Advertising revenues of Georgian TV channels soared by 53.5% - up to $9 million per quarter

The main growth came from the largest TV channels, with advertisers including companies from Russia, Georgia, and other countries

The revenues of Georgian TV channels from commercial advertising in the second quarter of 2026 increased by 53.5% year-on-year. According to the Communications Commission of Georgia, broadcasters collectively earned about 24 million lari, which is approximately $9 million.

The largest advertising revenues were received by Rustavi2 and Imedi TV channels. Among Imedi's clients were companies registered in Russia, including FERRERO RUSSIA, Orimi Trade LLC, and Colgate-Palmolive. Companies from Slovakia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, and South Korea also placed advertisements.

Among the major Georgian advertisers are Meama, Aversi Pharma, Coca-Cola Bottlers Georgia, Silknet, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, Georgian Airways, Orbi Group Tbilisi, PSP Pharma, and other companies.

On Imedi, advertising contracts worth more than 500,000 lari were concluded by Meama, Anagi, and Avenue by Orbi. For Rustavi2, Meama and Eurasian Broadcasting Enterprise Limited fell into this category.

Post TV worked with 12 advertisers in the second quarter, including Meama, Nestle Georgia, and Silknet. Both Imedi and Post TV are under UK sanctions.
