Demand for flights from Russia to Georgia significantly increased precisely at the height of the summer season. According to the Tutu service, the number of flight bookings increased by 8.5% over the year, and passenger traffic by 9.8%.

The main growth occurred in July and August. While in June the number of bookings decreased by 1.3% year-on-year, in July the figure jumped by 15.1%, and in August it added another 11.7%. Thus, after a relatively weak start to the season, the destination significantly revived during the period of maximum summer demand.

Among Russian regions, Krasnodar Krai became the leader in terms of growth rates – the number of bookings from there increased by 25.2%. In St. Petersburg, demand grew by 15.5%, and in Moscow – by 11.2%.

At the same time, direct air communication with Georgia covers many more cities. Flights are operated, in particular, from Yekaterinburg, Kazan, and Samara. Up to 10 direct flights per week are available from Yekaterinburg to Tbilisi, from Kazan you can fly to Tbilisi and Batumi, and from Samara – to Batumi.

Overall, statistics indicate a steady growth in Russians' interest in traveling to Georgia. Moreover, the most noticeable increase in demand is observed precisely in July and August – traditionally the most active months of the summer tourist season.
