In the second quarter of 2026, residents of Georgia made 740.9 thousand trips abroad — 3.6% more than a year earlier. Of these, 571.9 thousand trips were made by tourists, and the number of tourist-type trips reached 388.7 thousand, an increase of 0.8%.

Almost half of all foreign trips — 47.4% — were made by residents aged 31 to 50. Women accounted for 46.3% of trips. Most often, Georgians traveled to Turkey — 201.1 thousand trips, and Armenia — 112.9 thousand. The main reason for travel was visiting friends and relatives — 34.9% of all trips.

On average, Georgian residents spent 6.36 nights abroad. Moreover, 98.3% of trips were repeat visits.

The main change occurred in expenditures: from April to June, Georgian travelers spent 685.6 million GEL abroad — an immediate 17.6% more than a year earlier. Average spending per trip increased by 16.1%, to 1,198.7 GEL.
