Money Flow to Georgia Accelerated: Remittances from Abroad Increased Over the Last Year

In June, the volume of funds received reached $348.3 million, with the European Union remaining the largest source of remittances.

The volume of remittances received in Georgia in June 2026 increased by 10.4% compared to the same month last year. According to the National Bank of Georgia, the total volume of remittances amounted to $348.3 million (925 million lari), which is $32.8 million more than in June 2025.

The main part of the funds came from European Union countries – they accounted for 42.2% of the total volume of remittances, or $147 million. Over the year, this figure increased by 4.8%. Among EU countries, the largest sources of remittances were Italy, Germany, and Greece.

Remittances from the USA and Israel also continued to grow. $66.2 million was transferred from the United States in June, an increase of 12.7% year-on-year. The volume of remittances from Israel grew by 22.4% and reached $29.4 million.

At the same time, the volume of funds sent from Georgia abroad also increased. In June, this figure amounted to $39.8 million (105.7 million lari), which is 16% higher than the result for the same period in 2025.
