According to the results of January–May 2026, Georgia's foreign trade turnover reached $10.44 billion. As reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the indicator increased by 3.7% compared to the same period last year. The statistics include only officially declared trade operations.
Exports showed the most significant growth. Over 5 months, the volume of Georgian goods supplied abroad amounted to $3.11 billion, which is 19.8% more than a year earlier. At the same time, imports decreased by 1.9%, to $7.33 billion.
Despite the positive export dynamics, the country's trade balance remains negative. The foreign trade deficit for January–May amounted to $4.22 billion. According to the agency, the negative balance corresponds to 40.4% of Georgia's total foreign trade turnover for the reporting period.
