The country's banking sector earned more than 1.17 billion GEL in just 4 months

Georgia's banking system continues to show strong profit growth.

According to the National Bank of the country, for January–April 2026, commercial banks and microbanks received a total net profit of 1.171 billion GEL. This is 16.6% more compared to the same period last year, when the figure was 1.004 billion GEL.

The largest market player remains Bank of Georgia, earning 603 million GEL. TBC Bank took second place with a profit of 444 million GEL. Together, these two financial organizations received 1.047 billion GEL, or 89.4% of the entire profit of the country's banking sector. In fact, almost 9 out of every 10 GEL earned by banks came from them.

Among the other profitable market participants, Basisbank stands out with 38.5 million GEL, Liberty Bank with 29.1 million GEL, and Credo Bank with 24.3 million GEL.

The remaining banks showed significantly more modest results, which emphasizes the high level of profit concentration in the Georgian banking sector.
