First Phase of Anaklia Port in Georgia May Be Completed by 2029

The country's government continues negotiations with the consortium, and project conditions are being revised to reduce the burden on the state

Georgian authorities expect to complete the construction of the first phase of the Anaklia deep-sea port by 2029. This was announced by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, noting that the project remains in an active stage of implementation.

According to him, negotiations with the Chinese-Singaporean consortium are ongoing, and a final decision on the cooperation model and conditions is expected in the coming months, but no later than the end of the year.

The head of government clarified that during the negotiation process, the parties temporarily suspended work to adjust the terms of the agreement, but now the project is again developing intensively.

It is separately noted that the financial burden on the state under the updated conditions has been reduced, and the completion of the first phase by 2029 is considered realistic.
