Georgia Simplifies Driving License Acquisition: Exam Rules Revised

Candidates are now allowed more errors and the process for booking the practical part has been accelerated

Changes aimed at simplifying the procedure for obtaining a category B driving license have come into force in Georgia. The updates concern both theoretical and practical exams, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Agency.

In the theoretical exam, up to 5 errors are now allowed instead of the previous 3. This means that out of 30 questions, candidates must answer at least 25 correctly. The new rule will take effect on May 22.

The changes also affected the practical part of the exam. After successfully passing the first stage (the circuit), candidates will be able to book a convenient time for the city stage in advance without waiting. Priority in booking will be given to those taking the exam for the first time or who have fewer attempts.

From June 15, the permissible number of minor errors in the city stage will also increase from 12 to 15. This gives candidates more opportunities to pass the test without automatic termination of the exam and reduces the overall strictness of the assessment.
