In Georgia, over the past 5 years, the number of criminal cases related to cybercrimes has significantly increased. According to the Prosecutor's Office report for 2025, the number of such cases rose by 77% — from 139 in 2020 to 246 in 2025.

Intermediate statistics show a consistently high level of investigations: 163 cases were registered in 2021, and 204 each in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, the figure was 185 cases, after which it increased again. The Prosecutor's Office explains this trend by the improved qualifications of investigators and prosecutors specializing in cybercrimes.

It is also reported that in 2025, courts confiscated approximately 3.78 million GEL in cash and over 122 thousand GEL in virtual assets from those convicted in such cases. This reflects the growing role of digital finance and crypto assets in cybercrime-related investigations.
