Exports Soar 37-Fold: Georgia Sharply Increases Oil Product Supplies

New Kulevi Refinery Already Bringing in Hundreds of Millions of Dollars and Changing the Market

In the first quarter of 2026, Georgia sharply increased its exports of oil products – volumes grew 37-fold compared to the same period last year. Over three months, 361 thousand tons of products were sent to foreign markets, generating approximately $200.7 million in revenue.

A key factor was the launch of the Black Sea Petroleum refinery, which began operations in October 2025 in the port of Kulevi. The plant has already made it possible not only to cover domestic needs but also to actively enter export markets.

Currently, the enterprise uses oil from Russia, but in the future, diversification of supplies is planned through raw materials from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Experts note that the launch of domestic processing has become a turning point for the entire industry.
