The Georgian airline Georgian Airways announced a reduction in some flights and admitted the possibility of bankruptcy if the financial situation does not stabilize. The decision is due to a sharp increase in aviation fuel costs and deteriorating economic indicators, which have already begun to affect the carrier's operational activities.
First of all, the company is cutting less busy routes, trying to reduce costs and maintain key routes. The management notes that the situation is approaching a critical point: resources will be sufficient for about a hundred more flights, after which some operations may be suspended.
Georgian Airways is consulting with the Government of Georgia and expects support that could help stabilize its operations. Without external measures, the company warns of the risk of entering bankruptcy proceedings and the possible loss of part of its route network.
