The household appliances market in Georgia has frozen: sales have not grown for 3 years due to falling prices

Imports dominate, and growth is expected only in 2026

In Georgia, the household appliances sector has shown stagnation over the past three years: total sales volume has not increased due to declining prices. This is stated in a review by Galt & Taggart. At the same time, analysts expect that the market may return to growth in 2026.

According to the report, in 2025 the sector's revenue amounted to $718 million, of which only $22 million came from local production, while $696 million came from imports. The key supplier remains China with a 44% share, followed by Turkey, Italy, and Germany, as well as a number of other countries.

The import structure shows that almost a quarter is accounted for by heating and cooling systems, followed by refrigerators, televisions, and washing machines. A similar situation is observed in the furniture and lighting segment: its volume in 2025 amounted to $519 million, with the main share also coming from imports, primarily from Turkey and China.
