ADB Discusses New Infrastructure Projects Worth Billions of Dollars with Georgia

Focus on Transport, Energy, and Digital Communications

Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda met with Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili to discuss the development of the country's transport, energy, and digital infrastructure. Kanda announced this on social network X, emphasizing that Georgia is pursuing a prudent fiscal policy that helps maintain macroeconomic stability.

According to him, since Georgia joined the Asian Development Bank in 2007, the country has received about $6 billion in financial support. During this time, the bank has become one of the republic's largest partners in the development and implementation of infrastructure projects.

The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen Georgia's role in the so-called Middle Corridor — an international transport route between Asia and Europe. Special attention was paid to innovative initiatives, including the issuance of bonds in the national currency. The parties reaffirmed their intention to continue cooperation to accelerate economic growth and improve living standards in the country.
