Azerbaijani oil and gas company SOCAR plays a key role in the Georgian economy, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov said at the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey business forum in Kakheti. He noted that Azerbaijan's investments in Georgia exceed $3.1 billion, and the total volume of mutual investments with Turkey after entering the Turkish electricity market reached $21 billion. Trilateral energy cooperation has become one of the pillars of regional development.
Jabbarov emphasized Azerbaijan's contribution to the energy security of 16 countries, including 10 EU members, through natural gas supplies and projects such as the Southern Gas Corridor. According to him, the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey route has become a key element of European energy infrastructure, and Georgia's plans to modernize the energy sector open up new investment opportunities for SOCAR.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of transport projects, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the development of the Middle Corridor. Deepening regional connectivity, implementing the Kars-Nakhchivan project, and expanding cooperation in energy, logistics, and digital infrastructure create new prospects for the economic growth of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
