Car re-exports from Georgia fell by 22.5%

This is a blow to Central Asia

In January 2026, Georgia re-exported cars worth $100.7 million, which is 22.5% less than the figure for the same period last year. In monetary terms, the decrease amounted to $29.3 million, according to national statistics.

The main reason for the fall was a reduction in supplies to Central Asian countries. Exports to Kyrgyzstan decreased by 30% to $47.8 million. Supplies to Kazakhstan fell even more - by 37% to $23.5 million.

Against this background, Tajikistan showed positive dynamics: cars worth $4.9 million were sent there in January. Nevertheless, the overall trend remains negative, reflecting the cooling of key markets for Georgian re-exports.
