Georgian Biometric Passport and Electronic ID Card Receive High Security Printing EMEA 2026 Award

New Georgian passport recognized as the best at international competition

The biometric passport and electronic ID card of Georgia received the award in the nomination "Best Series of Documents" at the High Security Printing EMEA 2026 regional forum. The documents were noted for their high level of security, modern design, and reflection of national identity.

The issuance of new documents began in 2025, and they have already gained recognition on the international stage. The award ceremony took place in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where Rusudan Kokhodze, Chairperson of the State Services Development Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, was presented with the prize. The forum brought together more than 300 delegates from about 50 countries.

The new generation documents are equipped with modern security features and biometric technologies, which increases their reliability. Representatives of the Georgian agency, including Tamta Petviashvili, Deputy Director of the Civil Registry Department, and Natalia Gegelashvili, Project Manager, presented the new passports and ID cards at meetings with international forum participants.
