The Georgian government has approved the concept for the construction of the "Marneuli" solar power plant. The corresponding resolution was adopted on February 9, 2026. The project has been defined by the Ministry of Economy as a potential public-private partnership.
The investor is LLC "Solar Operation". The Ministry of Economy is tasked with monitoring the implementation of preparatory work, including conducting the necessary research, within the framework of PPP legislation. The agency must also ensure the signing of an official agreement between the state and the investor on the preparatory phase of the project.
The implementation of the "Marneuli" power plant will become part of the country's efforts to develop renewable energy and attract private investment in the solar energy sector.
