Russia is demonstrating steady growth in trade with Georgia and may become its leading trading partner in the future. This was stated by the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergey Katyrin, noting that if the current dynamics are maintained and logistics chains are further developed, Moscow has every reason to become a leader in the coming years.

According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia ("Sakstat"), in 2025, the volume of bilateral trade reached $2.688 billion, an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous year. At the end of the year, Russia ranked third among Georgia's foreign trade partners, but the growth potential, according to experts, is far from exhausted.

Additional drivers could be the development of transport corridors, the simplification of mutual settlements, and the expansion of direct contacts between companies. Currently, Russia supplies Georgia with oil and petroleum products, gas, grain, and vegetable oils, and in return imports wine, mineral and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as fruits and nuts.
