TAV Georgia Extends Contract to Operate Tbilisi and Batumi Airports Until 2031

Investment in the Expansion of Tbilisi Airport Will Amount to $150 Million

TAV Georgia, part of ADP, has extended its contract to operate the international airports of Tbilisi and Batumi by five years, until the end of 2031. Under the new agreement, the company undertakes to invest $150 million in the expansion of Tbilisi Airport: the complex’s area will increase by 20,000 sq. m and reach 57,000 sq. m.

TAV Georgia CEO Tea Zakaradze said that the negotiations had been ongoing for the past eight months and were the result of many years of work. The company has been operating the airports since 2005, investing more than $240 million in infrastructure development. During this period, passenger traffic in Tbilisi grew from 546,000 people in 2005 to 5.4 million in 2025, despite the pandemic and the consequences of the August war.

TAV Georgia emphasized that Tbilisi International Airport will continue operating until the opening of the new Vaziani Airport. Special attention will be paid to maintaining a high level of service and readiness for further passenger traffic growth.
