Indian airline IndiGo has suspended flights to Tashkent, Almaty, Baku, and Tbilisi until February 28, 2026. According to the company’s press service, the decision is connected with the developing situation around Iran and is aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.
The flights were canceled unexpectedly for tourists and representatives of the tourism industry, especially given the growing number of Indian tourists in the region. Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan are actively developing airport infrastructure and cultural tourism, which has contributed to an increase in the flow of foreign visitors.
According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2025 Uzbekistan was visited by 11.7 million foreign citizens, of whom about 80.8 thousand were tourists from India. IndiGo promised to monitor the situation and promptly inform passengers about possible changes to the flight schedule.
