Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Bulgaria are preparing a new energy corridor

The terms of reference are ready

In the near future, the selection of a consultant will start to develop a techno-commercial justification for a large-scale energy corridor project connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Bulgaria. Tural Aliyev, General Director of the Green Energy Corridor JV, announced this at a round table dedicated to the International Day of Clean Energy.

According to him, the terms of reference for the interconnector are ready, and now it remains to select a specialized consultant who will deal with a detailed assessment of the project. Experts will analyze the technical and financial feasibility, study the possibilities of integrating renewable sources and ways to optimize costs.

The energy corridor project is aimed at strengthening regional energy security, developing "green" energy and increasing the efficiency of electricity supplies between countries. Its implementation could be a key step in uniting the energy markets of the South Caucasus and the Balkans.
