In 2025, 1,258,006 people in Georgia received salaries totaling 32.8 billion lari, according to the Revenue Service. This is 13% more than the previous year, although the number of employees increased by only 0.4%, adding just 4,398 people.
The growth in average salary is explained by both an increase in the income of local citizens and the departure of some foreign workers, primarily Russians, which reduced the share of emigrants in total employment. At the same time, the statistics do not include unregistered income of tutors, home repair workers, and delivery service couriers.
Of the total amount, 6.6 billion lari was directed to the budget in the form of income tax. Experts note that the salary indicator demonstrates an increase in the income of the population, despite the relatively stable number of employees.
