The Chinese trading platform Temu is seriously changing the rules of the game in the Georgian market, and local entrepreneurs fear the consequences. According to them, "Georgian Post" cooperates with Temu at extremely low tariffs, which is effectively a dumping practice and threatens the interests of local businesses.
The head of the Electronic Commerce Association, Tamar Gogolashvili, stated that a complaint has already been filed with the National Anti-Monopoly Agency requesting an investigation into the situation. According to her, the dumping prices of "Georgian Post", funded by taxpayers, are unacceptable, as they create an advantage for the international platform to the detriment of local companies and consumers.
Temu's problems are affecting the entire e-commerce sector of the country: in 2025, industry revenues decreased compared to 2024. Local companies are calling for joint work with the Competition Agency, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance to develop support measures already used in other countries.
