According to preliminary data from Geostat, in 2025, Georgia's exports increased by 11.2% and reached a record 7.3 billion dollars. The increase was particularly noticeable in December - 22.5%, up to 673 million dollars. The detailed structure of exports will become known after the publication of the full statistics on January 20.
Imports for the past year amounted to 18.5 billion dollars, which is 9.7% more than in 2024. In December, purchases abroad increased by 8.5% and reached 1.84 billion dollars.
As a result, the negative trade balance amounted to 11.2 billion dollars, or 43.5% of foreign trade turnover, slightly lower than the 2024 figure - 44%. Thus, despite the growth of imports, exports demonstrate steady growth and strengthening of Georgia's position in international markets.
