In 2025, the Poti seaport handled 636,000 containers, which is 17% more than the previous year, APM Terminals reported. The number of cargo ships received reached 362, which also became a record for the port.
“The Poti seaport has never handled such a volume of cargo before,” APM Terminals noted. The success is attributed to the growth of trade and the modernization of the port's infrastructure.
At the same time, Georgia continues to build a new Anaklia port with a design capacity of more than 1 million containers per year. The total investment in the project is $600 million, which will increase the country's logistics potential.
