The Tbilisi budget for 2026 has been increased by 17,169,000 GEL and now amounts to 2,210,558,200 GEL. The corresponding draft amendments were supported by the City Assembly (Sakrebulo), taking into account the remaining funds in the municipality's accounts and projected revenues for the current year.
According to the head of the city's financial management, Gaioz Talakvadze, the priority direction of the increased funds is the modernization of public schools and the provision of transportation for students.
The changes also take into account proposals for additional needs and the redistribution of funds from the Urban Infrastructure Development Service and district administrations, which will allow the budget to be directed to the most relevant programs and subprograms of the city.
