In 2026, the travel time on the Tbilisi-Batumi train will be reduced by approximately 30 minutes. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, noting that the acceleration will be possible thanks to the digitalization of the railway.
Currently, Stadler trains cover the route in 5 hours 37–50 minutes. The innovations will allow passengers to travel between cities faster and more comfortably, which is especially important for the summer tourist season.
