Creative Technologies to be Actively Developed in the North Caucasus

The region is joining the implementation of the strategy for the growth of the creative economy in Russia

Russia is preparing a Strategy for the Development of Creative Industries, the goal of which is to increase the contribution of the creative sector to the country's economy. The document is being developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and is designed until 2036. According to Tatyana Ilyushnikova, Deputy Head of the Ministry, the creative economy is already demonstrating multiple growth, and in the future its share in GDP should reach 6%.

One of the first regions of the North Caucasus to join this work was the Stavropol Territory. There are more than 7,400 creative industry entities here, employing over 12,000 people. The regional authorities expect to turn the creative sector into a full-fledged part of the economy, and not an auxiliary niche.

The development of creative industries is planned in 16 areas at once — from folk arts and crafts to cinema, television, book publishing, art industry, recreation and entertainment. The Ministry of Economic Development emphasizes that new approaches and technologies should become a driver of sustainable growth in the regions.
