Sirius Sea Port to Open in Summer 2026

From "Kometa" to International Routes: Harbor Being Prepared for Large-Scale Launch

The sea port of the federal territory of Sirius will begin operations in the summer of 2026. This was announced by the head of the Sirius administration, Dmitry Plishkin, at a meeting of the federal territory council. After the launch of the passenger harbor, authorities plan to consider opening international sea routes, including destinations in Abkhazia, Georgia, and Turkey.

Currently, the sea terminal in Sirius is being converted into a passenger port. The first phase of the launch is scheduled for 2026: the route of the high-speed vessel "Kometa" Sevastopol – Sochi will be extended to Sirius. It is expected that about 200,000 passengers will use this route in one season. In addition, the launch of two excursion and two regular transport routes is planned for August 2026.

Four vessels are being built to operate on the new lines — two "Sommers" ships and two "Kotlin" ships. The second phase of the port's development, scheduled for 2030, provides for the opening of international routes with a projected passenger flow of up to 100,000 people per season. And by 2033, authorities expect to switch sea transport to marine-class electric vessels, which will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 30,000 tons per year.
