Georgia sets new car record

Cars worth $2.6 billion were exported through the country

In January–November 2025, Georgia recorded a record for the re-export of passenger cars. 103,000 cars with a total value of $2.6 billion were sent abroad, which is 18% more in revenue than the year before. According to Sakstat, the increase in monetary terms amounted to $403 million, and the average price of one car reached $25.2 thousand.

The largest formal market remains Kyrgyzstan, where 38.9 thousand cars were exported for $1.3 billion, showing an increase of 23%. However, statistics from Kyrgyzstan indicate that only about 2% of these cars remain in the country, and the main part is resold further, mainly to Russia. This is also confirmed by Russian data: in 11 months, 34.6 thousand used cars were imported into Russia from Georgia, which is 218% more than a year ago.

In second place in terms of re-exports was Kazakhstan with a figure of $735 million and 41.5 thousand cars, in third place was Azerbaijan, where supplies decreased by 28%. The fastest growing destinations were Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. At the same time, car imports into Georgia also became record high — 212 thousand cars for $3.5 billion, of which two-thirds went to re-export, and cheaper cars with an average price of about $8.5 thousand remained for the domestic market.
