Georgian Airports Break Records: Passenger Traffic Exceeds 8 Million

Growth in flights and cargo transportation confirms high interest in the country and its transit role

Georgian airports served approximately 8 million passengers in the 11 months of 2025, which is a record figure for the entire industry. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of the country, Tamar Ioseliani. According to her, growth was recorded in several areas at once — passenger traffic, the number of flights and international cargo transportation.

Ioseliani noted that the number of flights increased by 18%, which is also an unprecedented result. The authorities are consistently developing aviation infrastructure, increasing the efficiency of airports and introducing new services, which is directly reflected in the dynamics of indicators. At the same time, a sharp increase in air cargo transportation was recorded — approximately 50% compared to last year.

According to the Deputy Minister, the statistics for the 11 months of 2025 clearly demonstrate the high interest of international tourists in Georgia, as well as the country's increasing role in the international air transportation system. The authorities expect that the positive dynamics will continue in the future, strengthening Georgia's position as a regional transport and tourist hub.
