Georgia Waives Duty on First Delivery of Azerbaijani Fuel to Armenia

Papoyan calls the decision a symbolic gesture within the peace process

The Head of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, confirmed that Georgia will not levy a duty on the first one-time delivery of Azerbaijani oil products, which will pass in transit through its territory. According to the minister, the information comes from official Tbilisi, and the corresponding notification has already been received by the Armenian side.

Papoyan emphasized that the waiver of the duty should be seen as a gesture of goodwill from Georgia. He called this step symbolic and noted that it fits into the overall context of the peace process, in which countries are trying to demonstrate mutual initiatives.

The Minister specifically pointed out that this is a one-time case: subsequent deliveries will be subject to transit fees in the standard manner. The decision on the first batch of fuel was an exception.
